virtual couples therapy in San Diego, LA, OC, the Bay and beyond

Something has shifted between you and your partner and you’re not sure how to find your way back. Maybe it’s the same argument on repeat. Maybe it’s the silence that’s grown between you. Maybe a big life change or stress has put more pressure on the relationship than either of you expected. You may also be coming in to deepen connection, understand patterns before they become bigger problems, or navigate a life transition.

You might be coming to therapy because:

  • You keep having the same fight again and nothing ever really resolves.

  • Emotional or physical intimacy has faded and you don’t know to bridge the gap.

  • A major transition has put strain and stress on the relationship.

  • You’re considering marriage and want to build a strong foundation first.

  • You love each other but lately you feel more like roommates than partners.

  • You’re juggling high-stress or demanding careers and feel like you have drifted.

Whatever brings you in, couples therapy can support you to build a healthy relationship proactively, to step out of these patterns, and build a relationship that feels fulfilling.

How I approach couple’s therapy:

I work with couples virtually in California in different stages of their relationships including couples who are dating seriously, engaged, newly married, navigating major transitions, or simply wanting to feel more connected. I use Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy informed methods, two well-established approaches to couples therapy.

  • Gottman method focuses on building friendship, managing conflict constructively, and creating shared meaning. It gives couples concrete tools: how to raise a concern without it becoming an attack, how to better understand your partner, and how to repair after rupture.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy goes deeper into the attachment patterns underneath the conflict. Most couples aren’t really fighting about the dishes or budget, they’re expressing unmet needs for connection, reassurance or safety. EFT helps partners to identify those deeper needs, and learn how to express and respond to them.
