Hi, I’m Mai Gattenyo (159934) - I’m a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice under supervision of Lexi Molloy LCSW 109599.

I work with teens, adults, and couples virtually across California and focus on perfectionism, anxiety, burnout, and relational dynamics.

I provide premarital and couples therapy in California using Gottman and EFT to help you understand your patterns, explore intimacy, communicate more effectively, understand attachment needs, and break cycles of conflict and disconnection. I am LGBTQ+ accepting and affirming and work with relationships of all stages or formations.

I also work with individual teens and adults who feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, or burnout. Even when things appear fine on paper, you may still feel exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or unsure of what you truly want in dating, career, or friendships.

Therapy isn't the only lens I bring to my work. For almost a decade, I've worked alongside leaders, executives, and organizations as a leadership development consultant and executive coach. I understand the pressures of leading teams, building a business, juggling competing demands, and trying to succeed without burning out. That real-world experience shapes how I work as a therapist, allowing me to offer support that is both psychologically grounded and deeply informed by the realities of today's workplace.

I pull from a variety of modalities such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, CBT/ACT, and Psychodynamic to support clients. Regardless of the modality, I focus on finding the pattern at play.

We accept and are in-network with Aetna, Anthem, and Cencal, and also offer sliding scale. I offer virtual therapy sessions for anxiety, careers, and relationships across California including San Diego, LA, OC, the Bay and anywhere in between.
