Hi, I’m Mai Gattenyo (AMFT #159934) - I’m a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice under supervision of Lexi Molloy LCSW 109599.

Therapy isn't the only lens I bring to my work. For almost a decade, I've worked alongside leaders, executives, and organizations as a leadership development consultant and executive coach. I understand the pressures of leading teams, building a business, juggling competing demands, and trying to succeed without burning out. That real-world experience shapes how I work as a therapist, allowing me to offer support that is both psychologically grounded and deeply informed by the realities of today's workplace.

I work with adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, and burnout. Even when things appear fine on paper, you may still feel exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or unsure of what you truly want in areas like dating, career, or life direction. I pull from a variety of modalities such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, CBT/ACT, and Psychodynamic to support clients.

I also support couples navigating relationship stress, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, and communication breakdowns through Gottman and EFT informed interventions. I am LGBTQ+ accepting and affirming.

My therapeutic style is warm, direct, and collaborative. Regardless of the modality, I focus on finding the pattern at play. I believe that we all have the capacity for growth and to author a life that feels meaningful through understanding our patterns with compassion.

We accept and are in-network with Aetna, Anthem, and Cencal, and also offer sliding scale. I offer virtual therapy sessions for anxiety, careers, and relationships across California including San Diego, LA, OC, the Bay and anywhere in between.
