anxiety therapy for teens
reduce worry or overthinking. build practical coping skills for now and the future.
virtual CA therapy in San Diego, OC, LA, and beyond.
Your teen might be the one teachers praise, the one with the packed schedule, the one who “doesn’t seem like they would need therapy”. But high-achieving teens often carry a quiet, relentless pressure to keep performing, to never fall short, to have it all figured out. Therapy gives them a supportive, judgement-free space to understand what’s underneath the pressure, build practical coping skills, and feel more like themselves again, not just the version of themselves that gets things done.
A high-achieving, anxious teen might experience:
Constant worry or overthinking, especially about school or the future
Feeling overwhelmed, on edge, or unable to fully relax
Avoiding situations where they might not succeed
Setting incredibly high standards for themselves and then feeling like they’ve fallen short.
Fear of making mistakes or dissapointing others
Difficulty separating their worth from their achievement
Therapy for teens with anxiety is avilable virtually in San Diego, OC, LA, the Bay and anywhere in between.
A note to parents:
You want to support your teen without adding more pressure, and you may be unsure where the line is between typical teen stress and something that needs more support. I’ll give you a general sense of how things are going and flag any safety concerns, while still giving your teen the private space they need to be honest and build trust in the therapy process. Many families find that a few parent check-ins alongside the individual therapy work helps everyone feel connected and on the same page.
What Teen Anxiety Therapy with me looks like:
I work with teens across California through virtual therapy sessions designed to help you slow down, understand what’s beneath the overwhelm, and build practical coping skills for not only today but the years to come. Prior to being a therapist, I worked with teens for years as a Hebrew teacher, youth director, and leadership expert. I enjoy helping teens navigate the challenges of their world.
Cognitive Therapy (ACT, CBT): We identify the thought patterns that fuel anxiety, the “what ifs”, the catastrophizing, the inner critic and explore what’s underneath the self talk. Together, we look at challenging and restructuring these thoughts ro reduce anxiety.
